Celebrate beloved dancer, educator, actor, and now ancestor Carmen de Lavallade at A Celebration of Life for Carmen. All are welcome to bring an offering for the altar - created in honor of all of our ancestors with archival materials curated by Sierra King. Join anytime during the event for screenings of dance footage from the archive, zine making, and dessert. Free and open to all.
Sound bath:
3:15-4pm
Crystal bowls, chimes, and cello by Anicka Austin, Chris Gravely, and Saira Raza
Feel free to bring a mat, bolster or blanket for the bath. Post-bath reflection and chant by Anicka Austin and PhaeMonae.
